This isn%26#039;t a botany question. It%26#039;s a math question.

Pick a variable for one of the fruits. Say pears is %26quot;r%26quot;.

2r=apples, r=pears, r-4=peaches.

Put them all in an equation:

2r+r+r-4=24

Solve for r.

Basically, you want to pick one thing as the variable and then put the other things in terms like, 2*the variable. The variable-4. You want them all to relate to each other, so pick the simplest one (pears) and put the other fruits in terms of what they are in relation to pears.
Reply:14 apples

7 pears

3 peaches

= 24
Reply:pears + apples + peaches = 24

pears = apples/2

pears - 4 = peaches

Therefore apples = 28/2 = 14

apples = 14

therefore pears = 7

therefore peaches = 3
